God, Our Protector

TUESDAY AM

I wanted to go ahead and post this now and send more later. I wanted to get word to you before the "grapevine" starts buzzing. EVERYONE IS GREAT, but the students going to Rescue Atlanta and Memorial Drive sports camp were on one of our buses this morning departing at 9am. A pick up truck came barreling past them, tried to cut in front on the bus, rear ended the cars in front of him, and hit the bus. By far the majority of the students did not even feel anything… not even a jolt. Our driver according to every person at the front of the bus did an excellent job and did everything he possibly could to avoid hitting the truck. Good news… NO ONE was injured in any of the vehicles, so our students did not have to see anyone injured. The bus has only to get the headlight fixed and the get one of the front door latches fixed where it will lock as it is supposed to. IT WILL LOCK, but they are going to take every precaution before putting the students on that bus. Another of our buses came back to pick up the students and they are merrily on their way to their sports camps. I just wanted you to hear the facts so you would not worry. We are blessed to have only a few minor bus problems and nothing else. If you have any questions or just need reassuring about anything, call me.

TUESDAY PM

After the bus accident in the morning, the day turned out to be an incredible day. Another successful day of sports camps. Our students are learning much about how blessed and privileged they are. Pray for one camp… Friends of Refugees. That is a really hard camp… the children are not used to any discipline or control. Our kids are hanging in and making it happen though.

We sang at the Georgia Baptist Children's home. The gym was warm, but our group was amazing. We had… yes, you guessed it… pizza with the residents after we sang. That is the FINAL pizza of the tour. :-)

It was obvious that today we physically hit the wall. Tonight is at 10:30 curfew and mandatory bed time. I think they are actually glad I am making it happen! Good night.
